Johnny Garcia, professionally known as J Rythm, has made his mark in the LA nightlife. Recognized as a DJ/Producer, radio personality, and now as an artist. He got his first break spinning at a club in Hollywood. Since then, he’s been sought out by the elite LA club scene.
In the summer of 2006, J caught wind of a new radio station coming to Los Angeles, La- tino 96.3 fm. Amongst thousands of applicants that auditioned for the station, he was one of the few to be selected as a weekend mixer. 4 years later, J Rythm became the Mix Show Coordinator for the station, and an On-Air Personality/DJ with the #1 radio show in the market. He has since left the station to expand his brand and reach. “I feel like my fans are asking for more from J Rythm”, He says, “Without them I would be nothing. I gotta give ‘em what they want!”
Many rewards have come for the hard working DJ. He was asked to produce a mix for Metro PCS called Metro Master Mix, which included exclusive remixes by J Rythm. World known leader in DJ gear, Numark, approached him to be a spokesperson for one of their most popular products, the Numark V7. Jagermeister followed suit and offered him a sponsorship deal. He has been featured on well known DJ pod cast such as Powertools, DJ City & BPM Supreme, which included original tracks and exclusive remixes by J Rythm.
All these accomplishments didn’t go unrecognized. At the 2010 Latin Mixx Awards in New York, he was presented with the 2010 West Coast Latin Mixx DJ of the Year award. “I’ve never won an award before,” J says, “I couldn’t believe it. It feels really good when you know your hard work is not going unnoticed”.
2011, J Rythm, hit a landmark in his career landing the official remix for Prince Royce’s hit song Corazon Sin Cara, launching him as a certified remixer/producer. Since then he’s remixed songs for Caroline D’Amore & Natalie La Rose, Stonebridge, Maluma, Tito El Bambino, Avicii, Akon, Gloria Estefan, Juanes and many others. Lexus later approached him to be apart of their remix compilation, The CT Remixes for their marketing initiative with the Lexus CT Hybrid along side Dave Aude and L.A. Riots.
J Rythm, landed production credits on Interscope Records artist Blind Scuba Divers for Check My Steezo which has also landed in Columbia Pictures film and soundtrack,
22 Jump Street. Summit Entertainments film and soundtrack Step Up 4: Revolution. Subsequently, Sony Music appointed J Rythm the position of A&R Music Consultant. Other recent music placements have come from E! Entertainment: LA Clippers Dance Squad, FOX: Lethal Weapon, A&E: Wahlburgers, CSI: NY, House of Lies, TV Land: LOPEZ, Oxygen’s The Face, ESPN SportsCenter, and Disney’s Kickin It.
J Rythm’s mix series, Another Dirty Night, has taken off into new directions. J Rythm now brings you Another Dirty Night, featured on the premiere Electronic Dance Music Station LOUD on DASH Radio, a first of its kind digital radio network created by the world famous DJ Skee.
